Four new elements were added to the periodic table

Every single science textbook in the world is now out of date after four new elements were added to the periodic table, finally completing the seventh row.

Elements 113, 115, 117 and 118 were added at the very end of 2015, marking the first time new atoms have been added to the table since 2011.

Kosuke Morita, the leader of the Riken team, smiles as he points to a board displaying the new atomic element 113 during a press conference in Wako, Saitama prefecture on December 31, 2015.

The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) deemed that there was sufficient evidence provided by the researchers to claim the discovery of the four new elements. It approved the new elements on December 30.

Element 113, which has a temporary working name of ununtrium and a symbol Uut, was discovered by a Japanese team at the Riken Institute.

Elements 115, 117, and 118, which have the temporary working names of ununpentium, ununseptium and ununoctium respectively, were discovered by Russian and American researchers.

The new elements, which are all man-made, fill out the seventh row of the periodic table, where elements are ranked according to their atomic number - the number of protons in their nucleus.

"The chemistry community is eager to see its most cherished table finally being completed down to the seventh row," Professor Jan Reedijk, president of the Inorganic Chemistry Division of IUPAC, said in a press release.

"IUPAC has now initiated the process of formalizing names and symbols for these elements temporarily named as ununtrium, (Uut or element 113), ununpentium (Uup, element 115), ununseptium (Uus, element 117), and ununoctium (Uuo, element 118)" said Professor Jan Reedijk, President of the Inorganic Chemistry Division of IUPAC.

New elements can be named after a mythological concept, a mineral, a place or country, a property or a scientist.

The proposed names and two-letter symbols will be presented for public review for five months after which the IUPAC will make a final decision.

Education giant Pearson said that it would make any changes to its textbooks.

"We regularly review our course materials and textbooks to ensure they are up to date, and any changes that need to be made will be done at the appropriate moment to ensure the best learning outcomes for schools and students," a spokesperson for the company told CNBC.

Space and Alien Snowfest

Unidentified flying objects. They’re one of the most mysterious phenomena on Earth, or off. Are they extraterrestrial spacecraft? Secret government plane tests? If you’ve ever wondered about the truth behind UFOs, you may be in luck.

The conference features special guests George Noory and producer Tom Danheiser of the Coast to Coast AM radio show, along with Jason Martell, Mike Bara and Linda Moulton Howe, who have each appeared on the History Channel show “Ancient Aliens.” Other guests include ufologists Stanton Friedman, Micah Hanks, Richard Dolan and Chase Kloetzke.

The conference will include panel and audience discussions, as well as presentations from the various guests. The Space and Alien Snowfest will take place at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center at 42900 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake. Tickets for the whole weekend are $209, or single day tickets are available for $99. Visit www.aliensnowfest.com for more information. Call 909-648-5776 for tickets.

Aliens invade — in an exhibit

Inside the city's GardenWalk center, in the suite formerly occupied by Tommy Bahama, is a new walk-through exhibition called "Encounters: U.F.O. Experience," which organizers call a beginner's course to ufology — the study of visual records and other alleged evidence of unidentified flying objects — that will appeal to both children and adults.

"This is a 101 on UFOs," said Brian Bouquet, a San Juan Capistrano resident who curated the content and created the storyline.

The exhibition, which opened Jan. 1 and is tentatively scheduled to run through May 31, features galleries containing replicas of artifacts related to ufology, as well as videos and informative text, all in about 3,800 square feet.

After passing the entrance, which is highlighted with a replica E.T. from the 1982 classic film, patrons go into a gallery dedicated to the "ancient aliens" hypothesis, which theorized that extraterrestrials visited Earth and influenced early humanity.

Inside, viewers can learn about the mysterious Moai statues on Easter Island, the Nazca Lines in Peru and Pumapunku in Bolivia, where precisely cut stones held together without any mortar has some theorizing that advanced alien technology served as an aid in the construction.

"We don't have even modern cranes that can lift the heavy rocks into those positions," Bouquet said.

The second room, which Bouquet considers the "Area 51 military room," brings viewers into the modern era of ufology, beginning in the 1940s to the 1950s. During that time, the term "flying saucers" came into the general lexicon, and government entities like the military began paying attention to reports of UFO sightings.

Among the displays is information about the Roswell, N.M., incident of 1947 when, some believe, the U.S. military recovered a crashed alien spacecraft and bodies. Replicas of the Roswell Daily Record are among the artifacts, and the different classifications of alien encounters and UFO sightings are described.

Around the corner is the "sightings gallery," where a video plays UFO eyewitness testimonies. Another video shows footage of spacecrafts and asks viewers to determine if what they are seeing could be real or is a known hoax.

And, particularly for kids, Bouquet said, is the alien body whose "guts" can be touched.

The gallery also includes a room where guests can listen with headphones to real 911 calls — 82 in total — from people reporting UFOs.

The final room is dubbed the "abduction gallery," meant to look like the inside of an alien mothership. It holds preserved species inside jars and attempts to explain ufology from the 1970s to the present day, including some tie-ins to pop culture.

Getting into the abduction gallery involves going past the door marked "Do not enter: Alien autopsy occurring" and walking through a small tunnel where a fog machine offers an eerie feel. The tunnel, Bouquet said, is meant to re-create the feeling of abductees who report seeing a white light and feeling disoriented.

Before exiting the exhibition, viewers can take pictures next to a menacing alien from the "Alien" films.

An "escape room" experience, themed as fleeing from an alien abduction, is expected to open in the coming weeks. It will have a separate admission fee.

"Encounters: U.F.O. Experience" came to Anaheim after runs in Arizona and South Carolina. About 1,000 people have seen it so far in Orange County, and nearly 40,000 viewed it during its three-week run in Arizona, Bouquet said.

Tim Peake says aliens are REAL and there's 'high chance' of humans discovering extraterrestrial life

08:51, 15 JAN 2016 UPDATED 10:15, 15 JAN 2016 The Mirror
BY JASPER HAMILL
Major Tim says he's confident that we're not alone in the universe and makes an astonishing prediction

It's life Tim, but not as we know it: Peake is a 'firm believer' in extraterrestrial life

Astronaut Tim Peake is set to join a handful of British astronauts who have performed a space walk.

But the Chichester-born spaceman has said that his incredible journey is just one small step in a longer mission which could eventually result in humans discovering life on another planet.

Peake said he was confident scientists would soon crack the "big question" of whether we are alone in the universe.

"There is a high chance we will soon discover there was - or is - life in our solar system," the 43-year-old told Mirror Online.

"I would be very surprised if there wasn't life elsewhere in the universe."

However, the astronaut said he didn't expect little green men to suddenly pop up from the craters of the Red Planet.

"Single cell life forms might be found on Mars," he continued.

Tim also suggested extraterrestrial organisms might be found on the moons of Saturn or Jupiter, some of which are thought to hide vast oceans of water.

He said: "Wherever there is water, there is the possibility of life."

On December 15, the former military test pilot blasted off on a mission to the International Space Station, leaving his wife and two sons back on Earth.
Moon racer: Tim Peake aboard the Soyuz spacecraft
Speaking from Kazakhstan, Tim said his decision to fly into space was "not taken lightly" and had prompted "serious discussions" with his wife.
"There is risk involved and it's not easy," he confessed.
"In the last year, we've seen supply vehicles which haven't made it into orbit.
"It would be unnatural if my family weren't worried about me going into space, but they are very supportive."
In less than a fortnight, Tim will blast off aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket to begin his six-month stay on the International Space Station .

Possible UFO sighting over Lake Wylie

By Fox 46 Local News

POSTED:JAN 07 2016 11:03PM EST
UPDATED:JAN 07 2016 11:49PM EST
A possible group of 12-15 UFO's were seen above Lake Wylie on Tuesday evening.

A retired U.S. Navy officer says more than a dozen red/orange lights were moving back and forth above the lake. In a report on the National U.F.O. Reporting Center website, he says they circled for 5-8 minutes without a sound.

The National U.F.O. Reporting Center says it has more than 100,000 reports filed of possible U.F.O.'s -- some credible, others not. It believes this report is credible and worth investigation more.

The Center says it is seeing a number of similar cases of red/orange, "fireball-like objects", across the country.

"We can't determine what they are -- that's what makes them so interesting," Director Peter Davenport said. "They're not aircraft, they're not weather balloons, they're not crash dummies, they're not swamp gas -- they're not anything we can point a finger at, which is what makes it so interesting.

"They appear to be something out of the scope of our understanding of events on this planet."

YouTuber Tries Video Editing for the First Time, Accidentally Creates UFO Hoax (Reddit Post - an apology from an idiot)

An Australian YouTuber playing around with video-editing software accidentally created a UFO hoax that was viewed hundreds of thousands of times and sucked in several news outlets. Journalists consulted astronomers and meteorologists, and reported that the unexplained light in the sky was probably ball lightning. Really, it was just a composite someone whipped up in Blender and After Effects.

Over the weekend, Australian National University astronomer Brad Tucker gave the ABC a very plausible and elaborate explanation for the video, trying to make sense of what he was seeing: It had to be a rare combination of an aurora and ball lightning.

"An aurora is when energy from the sun hits the Earth's atmosphere, the energy rubs the Earth's atmosphere with friction and charges the gas," he said. "But the problem is there was no activity from the sun, it was cloudy, we can't see the aurora, so it doesn't really fit."

"The same activity that causes an aurora can actually happen inside our atmosphere if you have a storm with a lot of electrical charge that is rubbing against the gases in our atmosphere, causing it to grow that green or red color," he said.

"Sometimes, if you get a really interesting occurrence, you create something called 'ball lightning.' Normally lightning strikes up and down hitting the ground, but ball lightning is a weird thing where it appears as a ball explosion, sometimes it can even move around in the sky."

It’s a good theory, if you assume the video is real. And Tucker had no reason not to.

"It's probably not Photoshop either,” he said. “Everything kind of fits and it seems right.”

The ABC wasn’t the only news source to pick up the “UFO” video: The Canberra Times and others fell for it, too.

The unintentional hoaxer, “Johnson Thompson,” later released a second video revealing how the whole thing was done: by layering day and night shots of Canberra, then adding sound and lighting effects. Tucker was right about the “aurora” — but it was added in digitally, not caused by energy from an unlikely lightning storm.

He said that he never meant to fool anyone and “didn’t think the video would gain as much attention as it did.”

"I didn't intend for it to be taken seriously, but I made an error in judgement and titled the video as if it was real," he added later on Reddit, in a post called “an apology from an idiot.”

He couldn’t have pulled a better hoax if he’d tried. Not bad for someone who claims he’d just bought After Effects two days before he made the fake video.

Bizarre 'lightning UFO' caught on camera as crowd gathers to watch New Year's fireworks In Austria

11:35, 4 JAN 2016
BY KARA O'NEILL

Marie Mela, who captured the weird weather phenomenon on camera, is now appealing for other witnesses who might have seen the event.

An Austrian student's video of a UFO-like object captured while lighting New Year's fireworks has gone viral after it was posted online.

Marie Mela from Vienna was enjoying the New Year with friends in the Mostviertel region of Lower Austria, famous for the large number of pear orchards from where schnapps and cider are made.

The Ufo and the lightning flashes

But she insists that the video on her Facebook post is genuine, and has appealed in her message for anybody else who saw the phenomena to get in touch.

The video shows a group of young people outside with the clinking of champagne glasses, and the sound of the Danube waltz traditionally clearly heard playing as it is a New Year tradition in Austria as people wish each other all the best for 2016.

The Ufo and the lightning flashes

Alongside somebody lets off a firework, which heads into the sky and as it explodes, a silver white object can be seen framed by clouds and lightning forking in the area.

One girl is seen looking wide-eyed around her, while a man can be heard saying: "Did anybody see that?"

She wrote: "WTF, not sure if this is a UFO over Lower Austria or some bizarre weather phenomenon. Anyone any idea what it is? Did anybody else see this on the New Year?"

Authorities are still trying to fathom the cause of the blaze on the 20th floor of the 63-storey hotel which broke out at 9.30pm local time.

The witness, a commuter who has not been named, sent details of the flying disc, he said appeared at 6.42am local time, to UFO investigators, which have been picked up by a number of other alien websites.

He said: "I was driving to work, when an object appeared in the sky.

"I thought the object was a blimp (airship) or helicopter at first, but it didn't move."

The witness said he photographed the UFO for 20 minutes

The shocked driver parked up at his office to investigate further.

he said: "It was still there. I looked closer and could not determine the craft.

"I worked as a civilian contractor for the Air Force for 12 years and am familiar with all types of aircraft."

He noticed the object did not have any lights.

CLINTON PROMISES TO INVESTIGATE UFOS

The Conway Daily Sun - By Daymond Steer
CONWAY — Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton gave UFO enthusiasts a reason to cheer at the close of her recent editorial board meeting with The Conway Daily Sun.
IMG 0264Reporter Daymond Steer asks Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for her stance on UFOs when she visited the Sun on Tuesday. (MARGARET McKENZIE PHOTO)During the meeting, the former first lady, former senator from New York and secretary of state answered serious questions about foreign policy and the economy, and at the end, she chatted with this reporter, who had asked her about UFOs the last time she visited. She recalled that 2007 exchange with a smile and seemed to have fun discussing the topic.
"Yes, I'm going to get to the bottom of it," said Clinton with enthusiasm.
Back in 2007, Clinton had said that the No. 1 topic of freedom-of-information requests that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, received  at his library was UFOs.
Last year, Bill Clinton told late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel that he wouldn't be surprised if Earth is visited by aliens since so many planets out there may support life.
"I just hope it's not like 'Independence Day,'" said Clinton, referring to a movie about alien invaders.
When asked about her husband's nonchalant comment about contact with the third kind, Hillary Clinton responded: "I think we may have been (visited already). We don't know for sure."
Clinton also said she would like to look into Area 51, a secret military base in Nevada that has long been rumored to contain aliens. At first, she called it Area 54 and then corrected herself.
But Bill Clinton told Kimmel that he had already looked into Area 51. He said everyone who works there has to stop about an hour away to put on special clothing. Clinton said Area 51 is where stealth technology is made.
"There are no aliens there," said Bill Clinton, adding at the anniversary of the supposed Roswell, N.M., crash in 1947, he released all the documents he could on the subject because he knew there would be popular demand.
Kimmell had Bill Clinton promise that he would have announced the existence of aliens if he had found them.
Hillary Clinton, while at the Sun, added that the chairman of her campaign, John Podesta, is a huge fan of UFO lore. She said he enjoys a sci-fi show  on the FX network. Podesta served as chief of staff to Bill Clinton and counselor to the president for Barack Obama.
"He has made me personally pledge we are going to get the information out," said Clinton. "One way or another. Maybe we could have, like, a task force to go to Area 51."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In an interview with New Hampshire’s The Conway Daily Sun, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said that she would investigate Area 51 and UFOs if she were elected.

Reporter Daymond Steer asked Clinton about the topic in 2007, and revived the issue when she visited the paper’s headquarters for an editorial board meeting. “Yes, I’m going to get to the bottom of it,” she told Steer enthusiastically.

Steer asked Clinton about her husband Bill Clinton‘s comments in 2014 that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if we’ve already been visited by aliens.

“I think we may have been [visited already]. We don’t know for sure,” she responded.

The Democratic frontrunner also added that her campaign chairman John Podesta is a big fan of UFOlogy.

“He has made me personally pledge we are going to get the information out,” she said. “One way or another. Maybe we could have, like, a task force to go to Area 51.”

Bill Clinton told TV talk show host Jimmy Kimmel in 2014, "If we were visited [by aliens] someday, I wouldn't be surprised. I just hope that it's not like [the movie] 'Independence Day,' that it's a conflict."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P.R.G.
This interview of Secretary Hilliary Clinton represents a breakthrough moment in American political history.
When considering this reportage it is essential to remember she had the option to speak off the record.
This is a bold statement as the inevitable outcome of "getting to the bottom" on the issue would be Disclosure, which is to say Secretary Clinton would become the Disclosure president, assuming Disclosure has not already taken place.
When asked about her husband's nonchalant comment about contact with the third kind, Hillary Clinton responded: "I think we may have been (visited already). We don't know for sure."

UFO's Over Poland
The Land Of High Strangeness

UFOS OVER POLAND – The Land of High Strangeness
Author: Piotr CielebiaÅ›
Publisher: FLYING DISK PRESS

Book review by John Ventre

Piotr CielebiaÅ› has created a surprisingly interesting and detailed account of UFO cases in Poland. I love his title of “UFOs over Poland” since I have written a book called “UFOs over Pennsylvania” and I also do a talk show called “UFOs over Pittsburgh”. I agree that there is a link of lore to modern UFO cases, Ufologists need funding for their research and not all of the best cases took place 70 years ago. It was interesting to learn that Poland’s first flying disk case occurred in 1922 and that 22% of Poland’s population was killed by the Nazi’s. There is an underlying theme in this book of UFOs and/or the paranormal.
This book is full of remarkable cases and photos. Who knew of the 1959 Polish Roswell case of a small craft plunging into the water, emitting a red liquid and the coast guard finding a humanoid with more than ten fingers? We in the U.S. think that UFOs mostly occur here and are ignorant of the rich UFO history abroad; especially in “haunted” Eastern Europe where much folklore originated. It is also interesting that the Gray alien abduction is a U.S. phenomenon where as in Poland; they tend to be dark hooded figures much like in the early days of U.S. UFO reports. Although many UFO groups were formed in Poland, there is no official reporting agency for UFOs. In the U.S., MUFON does the job that the air force claims they do not do and Polish Ufologists can start their own MUFON chapter if they wish to.

It was interesting to read that when Poland joined NATO in 1999, the UFO subject became taboo. The government followed western protocols to debunk and ridicule cases and witnesses. I believe part of the agreement to obtain U.S. foreign aid and cooperation includes following U.S. policy on the handling of UFOs. It was also interesting to learn that the U.S. operates “Gitmo” type prisons on Polish soil and that Poland had more than 400 UFO cases from 1978-1989. Many of these cases involved green aliens or green clothed aliens and that many Polish scientists believed these were actually Russian experiments and technology. The chapter on pilot cases contained encounters of trying to shoot them down and instructions to report the case to their superior, follow safety protocol and not to speak to the media. Silence may be driven by the fact that the UFOs were not hostile and publicly reporting the case would entail having to thoroughly investigate each case. Similar conclusions were drawn in the U.S. in the early years of Project Blue Book although that opinion has changed over the past twenty years as the alien seems to have also changed, evolved or been replaced by a more aggressive type.

Scott Corrales' review of "UFOs over Poland"

Scott Corrales
by Scott Corrales

Ufology has often been accused of being provincial. On the whole, the average researcher or reader of materials dealing with anomalies has little interest in cases dealing with matters beyond sightings over their hometown, state or even country. Many cases – no matter how fascinating – are relegated to the “here be dragons” category: the text on ancient sea maps indicating that anything was possible beyond what was normal or of interest to those at home. Keep away.

Piotr Cielebias’s UFOS OVER POLAND encourages us to take a contrary perspective, leading us by the hand into a part of the world that has not been particularly known for UFO/paranormal sightings. Eastern Europe as a whole has been overlooked by U.S. researchers, aside from books on Soviet – era cases by Paul Stonehill and translations of originals in the 1970s involving psychic phenomena.

With the careful eye of a trained historian, Cielebias guides us through a fascinating landscape of cases old and new, a tapestry of enigmas reaching far back into the past, when Poland was one of Europe’s largest and most influential countries. UFOS OVER POLAND can be described as a full-service book: no reader will walk away with an empty sensation, as all tastes are covered. Those interested in high strangeness events will delight in learning of the Glinik Anomalous Zone, where UFO, religious and entity phenomena blend into one; students of the abduction phenomena will marvel at the Zofia Namlik experiences; adepts of nuts-and-bolts ufology will find a wealth of cases involving strange flying machines, substantiated by the testimony of airline pilots and police officers.

"Most of the close encounters and other perplexing cases revealing the complicated nature of the UFO phenomenon, contained in this book, have never been known in the West [...] Many things we will mention here may sound exotic to some readers," Cielebias writes in his introduction, and this is precisely what the reader will find. Events from the distant and recent past alike that constitute a refreshing break from the shopworn UFO histories that have cluttered the landscape for two decades.

It can only be hoped that this will be the first of many books by Mr. Cielebias, and we owe a debt of gratitude to Philip Mantle’s Flying Disk Press for making it available to Western audiences.

UFOs as we know are a global phenomenon and although there have been one or two books written about UFOs in Poland there has not been one book which has comprehensively covered the full shooting match. Well that was until now! This book has it all, from historical UFO sightings, wartime UFO reports, Polish alien abductions, pilot encounters, Polish UFO Crashes and much, much more. Quite an astonishing book this one and one in which I personally found totally fascinating particularly so for the immense amount of data that the author provides and most of which that has never been published in English before.
Admittedly the author does refer to other Polish researchers work throughout the book but in the main it is the author’s bringing together such a wonderful amount of high strangeness cases that one wonders what is coming next. These are not simple lights in the sky, the cases that the author refers to are in the main, low level, close proximity sightings which when you read them clearly show how traumatic some of them were to the watching witnesses. Piotr Cielebias begins his book by bringing the reader up to speed with some historical Polish UFO sightings. What I found of particular interest was when the author states (page 4) that the Catholic Church was responsible for the cultural and historical holocaust of the Polish identity! The author further states that in the main, anomalous aerial phenomena were first recorded in the medieval period. Indeed he refers to the last great Polish King, Jan 111 Sobieski (1629-96) who whilst engaged in a battle with the Turks saw a strange aerial phenomenon. But as far as the first so called modern era of Polish UFO accounts go, that would (according to the author) appear to come from the 19th century where again a number of strange things were seen in the skies above Poland.
The book is peppered with many bizarre and anomalous sightings and I found the Nowiny landing of 1943/44 very intriguing to say the least. I won’t go into detail here as it is for you to buy the book and see for yourself, but yes, quite an astonishing case. Poland, as we know, suffered many losses during the second World War and during that terrible conflict, Polish citizens and airmen were privy to witnesses what has been called ‘Foo Fighters’ those balls of light which tailed military aircraft from all countries during the war, the author illustrates a number of these strange Polish sightings in the book.
It wasn’t until the 1950’s the author tells us, that the Polish media (which was still controlled by the state) really began to inform its public about UFOs, and it pains the author to state, that even today no Polish politician has ever commented publically about the subject of UFOs. There are a number of UFO photographs and illustrations throughout the book which always helps the reader to see for themselves exactly what people have been seeing in the skies above Poland.
The subject of UFO crashes is also looked at in this book. As a reviewer, I always find it difficult to believe in such crashes mainly based on the fact that if we are dealing with a highly superior advanced civilization that are visiting us here on planet Earth, that their machines would crash, but, having said that, stranger things have happened and maybe there is a reason for this! The author brings to our attention a UFO crash that happened near Gdynia back in 1959. Was it an alien craft that fell from the sky or something else? Buy the book and find out! Some of the very close encounters cases that I read about in this book just blew me away not just by the accounts themselves, but by the actual craft that these beings came in! For instance the Jan Wolski case of May 10th 1978 we are shown an illustration of a craft that one would suggest all day long cannot fly but again, do we really know what we are dealing with? The author also takes a long hard look at some of the sensational humanoid accounts that have come out of Poland throughout the years and boy the reader is sure in for a surprise and numerous jaw dropping cases are presented (including the Czerniakow landing of 1979) The author tells us that a study of a number of Polish scientists back in the late 1960’s were of the opinion that the UFOs seen in the skies above Poland were simply the result of the Soviet Union testing things of a military nature. There is of course an element of truth in this, but certainly not all Polish UFO sightings were the result of the Soviets testing missiles etc. One of the more intriguing stories that I came across in this book, was a case where a UFO blocked an ambulance on the road which was carrying a woman to hospital to give birth, (I kid you not!) Furthermore there is also an account of a mother and son being assaulted by a flying saucer! (I did say that this book was astonishing!)
As in most countries, Air Force pilots are usually forbidden to discuss their own UFO sightings. Polish protocol states that they can report their encounters to their superiors but certainly not to the mainstream press, thankfully the author brings forward a number of very interesting pilot encounters for your attention. One of which the pilot was ordered to shoot the UFO down. The author also looks at civilian pilots and their UFO sightings. But it’s not just the air force that have had their UFO sightings, the military have as well and again the author brings forward some cases in respect to this (see the Nadarzyce Incident of October 1944) As I have stated, this book is full of amazing UFO encounters are the chapter on mass UFO sightings was an eye opener for me, (see the Piechota and Rzepecki sightings of August 20th 1979) The author then hikes the reader’s attention up with the amazing incident which occurred at Bedzienica-Nockowa, this really is a high strangeness case which involves UFOs and humanoids peering out from a luminous screen. As most UFOlogists know, car stop cases are a big part of UFO lore where the car engine dies in the presence of a UFO, again a number of such cases are given here.
Of course officialdom comes in many forms and the Polish police UFO reports are given the once over. The author tells us that little was known about Polish police officers UFO sightings prior to 1989 but thankfully as research progressed, these cases are now coming to light. What I also found of great interest whilst reading this book, was the UFO cases over the Baltic Sea but more importantly the USO reports, (Unidentified Submersible Objects) that my dear reader, takes this fascinating subject to another level and one in which this reviewer is totally immersed in! There are some wonderful accounts of USO activity here in this book. Sadly the UFO enigma has a side to it which is most unsavory, and that is UFO abductions and the author takes stock of a few of them here in this book where bedroom visitations are looked at. Yes, definitely not a side of UFOlogy that I as a reviewer of this book is happy with.
A number of different authors around the world have told us of certain ‘anomalous zones’ where a higher concentration of UFO reports and other bizarre things occur, well yes Poland too has a few of these zones. The small town of Glinik near Rzeszow has seen its fair share of UFO and humanoid activity and I guess is the Polish equivalent of Bonnybridge which is a small town in Central Scotland. (Rzeszow is another Polish UFO zone which has seen its own fair share of the weird and the wonderful) I did say that this book has everything and it even covers, (would you believe) flying humanoids! Yet again a few cases are discussed here. The author also looks at consciousness related UFO cases where he draws the reader’s attention to the very fact that some UFOs would appear to control the witness and some quite alarming cases are presented which certainly makes you wonder what on Earth is going on. Quite frightening actually.
The author does accept that not all UFOs may come from deepest space, he is of the opinion that there is a lot of truth in what French UFOlogist Jacque Vallee has to say in that maybe we should be looking at dimensions as part of the answer to the UFO enigma and the author quite rightly states the fact of how wide and diverse the UFO subject really is, from the shape and size of the entities seen, to the many different and varied UFO craft that have been seen. And what about the direct lack of contact? All this the author states, makes him wonder that the UFO subject is not as cut and dried as we would like to think it is.
All in all I found this a most fascinating book and a book which I have already stated has it all. This book clearly shows that Poland as a country has also been touched by the UFO presence and has a rich history of weird and wonderful events. The author has done a marvelous job in bringing all the best cases to our attention and believes you me; you won’t find a better book on Polish UFOlogy (or UFOlogy in general). A cracker, get it on your book shelf NOW. A big thank you should also go to publisher and UFO researcher Philip Mantle as this is his first venture into the publishing world.
